Over the past week, our 5th and 6th class students have been busy transplanting kale, onion, sprouts, and cabbage seedlings from the pots on our classroom windowsills to the polytunnel in Newcastle Community Garden.
The children really enjoyed caring for the seeds, watching them sprout, and now taking the next step of moving them into their new home. This kind of hands-on learning is a fantastic experience that brings science, nature, and teamwork to life!
A big thank you to Mr Hewitt for all his time, guidance, and support with the project. We’re very excited to see these vegetables growing strong – and hopefully appearing in the market before long! 🥬🧅🥦
