Our May School Assembly
Last Friday, our school community gathered together for our May Assembly. We began by singing Our God is a Great Big God, with volunteers enthusiastically leading everyone in the actions which was an energetic way to start our assembly.
Mrs McCaffrey then spoke to us about our School Promise and how it connects to the month of May. She reminded us that May is a time when we see growth all around us with flowers and nature in full bloom. In the same way, we are all growing every day through our learning, our friendships, and the effort we put into living out our School Promise. She encouraged us to keep working hard as we continue to grow together as a school community.
We also took time to remember and celebrate all of the pupils who had birthdays over the past month and they enjoyed Happy Birthday being sung to them.
The House Cup winners were then announced, and comhghairdeas to the Red Team on their fantastic win! The focus for the past month was lining up responsibly in the yard, and we were delighted to hear that all teams exceeded the target of 500 points. As a reward for this wonderful achievement, everyone will enjoy a non-uniform day.
There was also an opportunity to recognise some of the amazing achievements of our pupils over the past month. Congratulations to Rua for all of his sporting endeavours, to Poppy for writing and illustrating her own book, which her aunty had beautifully printed and bound for her, and to Penny, who is growing her hair to donate to charity next month to help children who have lost their hair due to illness.
We are so proud of all of our pupils and all they achieve both in and out of school — maith sibh go léir.
Finally, míle buíochas to Mrs McCaffrey for all of her hard work in leading another wonderful assembly. We really appreciate the time, care and effort she puts into making each assembly so special for our school community.
