As part of their learning on sustainability, our 5th and 6th Class pupils recently took on the exciting challenge of designing and building eco homes – with the rule that all materials had to be repurposed or recycled.
The results were outstanding! Some of the eco homes showcased:

Double and triple-glazed windows

Rainwater harvesting systems

Solar panels and wind turbines to generate electricity

Polytunnels and vegetable gardens for growing food

Timber structures and other eco-friendly building methods
This project was a wonderful opportunity for pupils to showcase their creativity and knowledge while also developing a greater awareness of how we can all work towards being more carbon-efficient – and perhaps even carbon neutral.
