Breast Cancer Ireland – Community Talk on Breast Health Awareness

7th May 2025

We are delighted to announce that Juliette O’Connell, a Patient Ambassador with Breast Cancer Ireland, will visit our school to speak to the community on Tuesday 13th at 7.00pm. This free event is open to all parents, guardians, and members of the wider community.

Juliette will share her personal experience with breast cancer and speak about the importance of early detection and breast health awareness. Her talk is part of Breast Cancer Ireland’s Breast Health and Education Awareness Programme, which is delivered nationwide to schools, workplaces, and community groups.

The session will include:

  • A live demonstration of how to perform a self-breast examination using a medical mannequin

  • An overview of the 8 signs and symptoms to watch out for

  • Practical, accessible advice to encourage early detection and positive outcomes

Breast Cancer Ireland’s outreach programme is designed to reach women of all ages and backgrounds, including minority groups and those with additional needs. We are proud to host this event and believe it will provide essential knowledge and reassurance to many in our community.
